Dj Joe Pea
Joe Pellini AKA Joe Pea has been playing music since the late 80's. Starting out as a drummer, he has always had a love for percussion & music. In 1995 he started playing in a metal band, then as a bassist in a punk band in '96, '97 as a percussionist in an acid funk jam band, '98 as a drummer in an acid jazz band, then in '99 as a drummer in an alternative rock band....
In October of 1999 his mind was opened up to Electronic music.
After being in so many different bands by 2000, he decided to put away his sticks to start DJing & has been doing it ever since.
Not really knowing too much about Electronic music, he started with a jumble of House, Trance, Electro Breaks & Techno & by the end of 2000, he started playing just the House genre, mainly Tribal House, Funky House, & some Progessive,
Later on that year he was recruited into a crew of DJs called The Dirt Assasinz. He scored his 1st residency at Arizona's 1st After-After Hours Club, The Buddha Lounge where he played at 5am every Sunday morning for about 4 months.
Stemming from that, Joe was booked for Underground Parties, House Parties & Club events. He was on his way. He continued to perform at events for several years.
In 2004 he moved to California & soon after picked up a Residency at a club that lasted for a little over a year. After that was over, he decided to lay low & hone his skills, playing just a few events periodically & focusing on his job as a DJ at a Gentlemen's club, where he worked on his extensive collection of multi-genred music. (100,000+ Rock/R&b/Old Skool/HipHop/Reggae/etc.) He then started dabbling a bit with Drum & Bass & Jungle.
During this time he discovered Techno, Minimal & Tech House and has been crazy about it ever since. He can & will play multiple genres and still plays House music, but has totally fell in love with TECHNO!
Joe is not only a DJ, he is into music production as well. For the past 3 years, he has been working with Reason 3 & in September of 2010, started using Ableton Live with it. Stay tuned for some original Joe Pea tracks coming soon.
